I finished My Heroes Have Always Been Junkies tonight and really enjoyed it. I don’t think there’s a team in comics I find as consistently entertaining as Brubaker and Phillips, even when they’re doing something a little different.

The countdown is on. This time next week I’ll be packing a bag and hitting San Jose with the Flocker team to show off what we’ve been working on at TwitchCon 2018.

Lots of great books this past week. I’m particularly happy to have gotten the Artgerm variant for Catwoman #4 and Bengal’s Unnatural #4 variant cover but first up on my the reading list this week has to be My Heroes Have Always Been Junkies by Brubaker and Phillips.

I know Kill or be Killed just ended by I need my crime fix and anything by these two is just what the doctor ordered.

I’ve already put almost a dozen hours into Dragon Quest XI and really enjoy it so far. It reminds me of the classic RPGs from Super Nintendo and PlayStation. Plus, the Akira Toryama art is really amazing.

I had no clue that Life of Captain Marvel was only a mini-series, ending at issue 5. Was this always the case? Why doesn’t Marvel still put this info on the cover? It makes even more sense then that Marvel would be starting up the new series with Thompson and Carnero next year.

Some weekend pickups from my LCS.

I have successfully pre-ordered a PlayStation Classic. Even without seeing a full list of games it’ll ship with, I’m super pumped to play again.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to get a new episode of Shortbox recorded this week BUT I did get around to playing the new Spider-Man game on PlayStation. It’s awesome and there’s tons in there for fans new and old.

Well, I managed to record and edit a new episode of Shortbox just in the nick of time. I took some time at the end of the episode to give my thoughts on what’s been going on online regarding comicsgate. I hope you’ll give it a listen.

I played through What Remains of Edith Finch last night and loved every strange, twisted minute. With only a few moments with each family member you’re still able to understand how broken each one of them is. It’s a beautiful game that I highly recommend checking out.

Another episode of Shortbox is in the books and arrives tomorrow morning on the newly launched shortbox.show site.

I really liked Virginia. It’s such a beautiful story-driven game that harkens back to X-Files and Twin Peaks while telling a unique story. I can’t believe it took me so long to finally check it out but — in this case — it’s definitely better late than never.

Had a rough go of it streaming last night and ended up playing and then returning a couple games. I think I need to get back into the habit of just jumping on No Man’s Sky when I’m not sure what to play.

It’s been a super busy week getting acclimated to my new job but I did manage to record a new episode of Shortbox tonight, which will be available tomorrow.
